Skin From Within

We all know how guilty we are of going through Pinterest and seeing these makeup pictures or influencers and they look flawless and we think “omg I want that glow!”. Skin is the only thing people see all day everyday. Hair can even be hidden under a hat. So whether you want to start on track for glowing skin for your wedding day, or just because you’re seeing the importance, here’s some tips to help!

The number one thing that everyone has to remember is make up can only do so much. You want to look flawless, in person. So how do we take the necessary steps to make your skin the best canvas possible? First, your Skin Care Routine: Ladies (and gents) this is HUGE! The most important thing you can do is get into the habit of having a good morning and night skincare routine. Product quality matters, the order of application matters, and customizing your routine for your specific skin type is important. Also keep in mind you will want to start a new skincare routine at least 2 months before something like your wedding as your skin will go through a “purge” as it adjusts and balances its pH.
The Order: Am- Cleanser, Toner, Serum, Moisturizer, Suncreen Pm- Makeup remover, Cleanser, Toner, night serum, eye cream, moisturizer for dry skin

Quality- if your hairstylist tells you “don’t use drugstore stuff on your hair, it’s bad for it” what makes you think your skin care is any different? People look at your skin EVERY SINGLE DAY. It is worth investing in. Some of my favorite skin care lines are: Mahalo, Skyn Icelandic, Glo Skin Beauty, Kiel’s, Epionce, I could go on.

Next step: start getting facials: It is so very important to see a professional monthly for a facial. The products they use can penetrate deeper into your dermis and epidermis layers of the skin. They can customize a facial specifically for your needs. I recommend starting AT LEAST 6 months before something big like your wedding. Then, of course, start maintaining at home, you’re never going to see those results at their full potential if you don’t take care of your skin at home. Facials don’t have to be something just for a pamper day, though there’s nothing wrong with that! I think skin care and skin treatments are highly undervalued because people don’t understand what they’re missing out on. Especially when done consistently.

Finally, diet. What you eat shines through. A lot of skin issues are related to dietary problems or lack of nutrients. It’s also vital to stay hydrated. You will notice a HUGE difference if you start drinking enough water. If you don’t already take some supplements. I’m a supplement junkie lol. Here’s what I currently take, it may be too extreme for some but it has worked for me: Juice plus (all 4 blends in capsules), Ritual vitamins (I just started these so I don’t have a ton of feedback yet), Vitamin D tincture, collagen tincture and collagen pills, probiotic, and biotin. It’s a lot but I’m also filling all of my gaps where I could be missing important nutrients. At least look into a daily, hair skin nail, and omega. You’ll notice differences in about 60-90 days.

I hope these tips help you get started on your journey to glowing, gorgeous, skin.!
